Rusting knives

Hessler Worldwide - Rusting knives

I Bought hessler worldwide SURGICAL STAINLESS STEEL knives 6 months ago at Sam's Club. Oxidizing already.

See picture (RUSTING!!!!!!). Surgical steel does not rust. Deceptive advertising. Is there a warranty?

How do I contact this company? Their website is not interactive. It only advertises and promotes their SURGICAL STAINLESS STEEL quality. Well my knives are already staining red rust.

They have been cared for exquisitely well, washed and towel dried after each used. Not left to air dry, although stainless steel shouldn't mandate that kind of care.

Would like a response from the manufacturer. Hopefully they will respond with honesty and honorability to a very disappointed customer.

I am sure Sam’s will refund you. They have a great return policy.

Our knives are slightly magnetic. Surgical steel will stain if you let the hard water from the tap get on there and let it dry.

I am sorry that you have had a bad experience with our knives. Please follow the instructions that came with the knives and return them for a full replacement set.

Knives Rusted

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I want my money back ,I bought the WHOLE biggest set of knives in Walmart and they are all rusted, I have to continue to sharpen them and I want a new set of my money back... they are NOT what the demonstrator portrayed!

I feel I was totally ripped of and misled!!!!

I do not recommend these knives to anyone, or any of these PROMOS from the Walmart/Sam's brand they are all Chinese cheap stuff... produced to make the Walmart family richer and take advantage of the general population!

Sam's quality has dropped in quality more and more in the past few years, you can see it in the nuts, their own fruits they are not cheaper than others, they MAKE IT SEEM like you are saving money but if you shop around you can find deals all over town, you just have to go from place to place!

I recently received a set of knives. People that say they rust have Hessler knives confused with another brand. My roommate left 3 of my knives in the sink in water for at least 24 hrs No rust what so ever. They handle very well and work as advertised. This Christmas friends and family are getting a set of Hessler knives. Thanks

Any company that has a guarantee where you send the product back to them for a replacement has the customer pay for shipping. Suck it up or just wait until they return to a near by Sams Club and have them replace your knives their.

You can google any of your near by Sams clubs and click on their web page go o the event schedule and look for "Gourmet Series Knives". If they are not on the schedule check about once e a month

Guest

WRONG! I bought the signature series at their traveling road show at Sams Club.

I NEVER let my knives sit in water and several have rusted. I contacted the company because of “LIFETIME GUARANTEE “ and they will gladly replace them. Oh did I mention IF I pay to mail them back and IF I pay $8.95 to cover THEIR shipping and handling.

Hardly a free replacement especially since the knives are sub par. Don’t be fooled by the guy with the super sharp knives, you will have to have yours professionally sharpened and they may rust!

Nice knife set but need to invest in a sharpener

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

great set of sharp knives... for around 1 month. :(

I bought a manual sharpener and a stine block. but haven't been quite able to restore the blades to the factory sharp level.

they loose their sharpness after around 1 month of moderate use.

the fact is all good even sushi chef quality knives require periodic sharpening. if they make steel too hard, it will become brittle and chip easily.

the problem i have with Hessler is that:

a) their marketing guys (e.g. the guy that demonstrated them at Sams club, claimed they never need sharpening.

b) i tried to research these more before buying, trying to find out the exact grade of steel, and the most the company could tell me is that they "contain a lot of chromium", which wasn't very fourthcoming.

if they would come up with a quality, easy to use, knife sharpener to incorporate into the package deal, i would respect them a lot better.

That is SUCH A LIE! after a year or so they are ALL rusted!

They said they had lifetime warranty but there is no web page, so I can assume they are some cheap Chinese knives manufactured for Sam's (Walmart monopoly) we ALL deal with since they have taken over the market and we need to stretch our money! Next time I am going to Bed Bath & Beyond, pay a little more but get REAL quality on German knives that WILL be really lasting, not these cheapos!

I am the original poster. To the manufacturer - Hessler Worldwide. You do seem to have a quality product, but it baffles me why you advertise never needs sharpening, which is totally untrue. They do not need sharpening because they are low quality, they need sharpening because it's a law of physics for any knife. It is impossible to produce a knife that does not, because the harder you craft the blade composition, the more brittle it gets and can easily chip/knick/break.So even the finest chef knives are forged at a medium hard alloy, to be the best combination of hard but not break easily. Before deciding to buy these, I contacted Hessler worldwide to find out the exact metal composition, but they could not find that information. All they could tell me is that "they contain a lot of chromium".My advice is Hessler is that your change you marketing strategy to one of more fundamental education and honesty on these.

For example, instead of incorrectly boasting they never need sharpening, why don't you honestly promote the grade of steel and why they are a great value, and spend 5 to 10 minutes of the demonstration educating the consumer why you choose the steel grade, and why it is impractical to make them so hard that they really would never need sharpening (because the blade would become too brittle). Then consider a supplementing the product line with a meas for sharpening theme. for example, maybe a every 4 to 6 month send it maintenance plan, or for me, better, a high quality, easy for any consumer to use, sharpener you can purchase as a package add on.you can even explain that the sharpener will work on any of your old knives, then show yours cutting again, and add, "but the steel quality on your old knives probably can never do this even when factory sharp".P.S. my impression from a talk with Hessler customer service, and them begin a bit confused by my question as to the exact type and grade of steel used, leads me to suspect the company themselves may not be very expert of this important topic, and perhaps they simply hired an engineer/designer/expert to come up with what he thought would be the ideal blade composition, and the rest of Hessler is more about marketing.

If that is the case, I urge you to learn and get more involved on the technical side, and address what I talked about. Else, you yourself don't even know exactly what you are selling, and if it's actually the exceptional quality advertised, or just good, like many on the market in this price range - in which case, not a bad value, but not necessarily a better value than similar ones you can get at other retailers marketed under known names like Cuisinart, kitchen-aid, etc, int he dame price range. In fact, just FYI, kitchen-aid actually has a similarly priced set that INCLUDES a sharpener.Honestly, I kinda would probably choose that set over these if I was doing it again - strictly for the sharpening reasons explained (and not necessarily because those knives seemed better quality).Think about it.I'm just sayin...

They never require sharpening because you can always get brand new ones for free whenever you see them at Sam's Club. Call Hessler Worldwide and see when they will be coming by your store or somewhere nearby. Otherwise, you can send them along with $8.95 to cover shipping and handling and they will send you a new set.

i didn't realize 5hey can just he swapped out at sams (if the timing is right).else, $8.95 shipping (x 2 since i also have to send them in) is too high. but if your saying i can send the entire set in once all are dull, and have them all replaced for the same $8.95 return shipping charge, then that's not so bad.i was thinking it was $8.95 per each knife returned.

Rust on the blade

Surgical stainless steel should not rust I left a drop of water on the blade overnight of one of those big butcher knives and there was a rust spot on it the next morning

Don't know where got that from, ask any one that know about steel, It does rust. You are not supposed to leave any steel in moisture or it will rust.

Did you dry them? Or did you let them set in water so that the iron in the water would adhere to the blades?

If you don't dry them, they will get the iron on them, they are slightly magnetic.

Sorry that you hate them. Please send them in for a full replacement.

Rust is tough

Hessler Worldwide - Rust is tough

I purchased this set of knives after being present at a Hessler knife presentation at Cosco. My initial reaction when I was watching the gentleman demonstrate the knives I was astonished at how well they cut.

No need for too much pressure on the handle or no ruining a tomato when using the knife. After, a few wonderful cooking days and about two washes they were tarnishing. I washed them by hand, not in the dishwasher.

Unsafe. When this occurred I took to the internet and through a few minutes of research I found out that my case was a common problem in the product.

I was in Sam's club in Philadelphia Mall today to watch the demonstration of their knife. The salesman gave me a gift card.

After the demonstration , I gave him the card , He handed me the gift( a small knife) along with a box of knife. He ask me do I want o buy it. I said no. He said give me back and hand me the small knife (The gift) and said "idiot".

Very rude.

I am very mad.He really owe me an apologize. I will report to his company.

I've got better hunting knives than their kitchen knives.

Bought a set of the knives at Sam's club in Ft. Collins , Colorado.

We thought they would be a good deal if they would perform like the man advertised them to do in his demo. The edges lasted about two weeks. I've had to sharpen them about every two weeks to keep an edge on them . The set was a rip off as advertised in the demo at $49.

a set. I should have never doubted my Chicago Cutlery kitchen knives. They are more reliable and hold an edge a lot longer....to also include my Chicago Cutlery hunting knives.

I use these knives to skin and cut up my game every season. They are over 35 years old !

These Hessler's are not even worth putting into my camper for hunting season

Love the knife set

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We enjoy our Hessler knife set, I had the opportunity to watch the demonstration at the SAMS in Bullhead City Arizona, mid year 2017, and was amazed at what the knives could and did do, the gentleman that did the demonstration was very professional upbeat and friendly, excellent knowledge of his knives, and answered all question. One piece, surgical stainless steel, excellent germ and bacteria control, any knife with a added handle risk growth of bacteria and germs, unless you remove the handle and clean each time.

I use them all the time, and they perform well all the time, we have had to sharpen them a couple times, but with any well made knife this is expected.

I ended up getting two extra sets, one for my son and one for my sister. We would recommend and refer to friends and family.

Hessler Worldwide - Cutlery Set Review

Hessler Worldwide - Cutlery Set Review

I have had my set of knives for two months. The fillet knife tip broke off the first week as I was sticking into my wooden knife holder block.

The chef knife has become dull in two or three weeks. It will barley cut an onion or potato now. The paring knives are not as sharp as the cheesy free knife they gave away at the demonstration. I liked the the "robowhisk" but it has jammed.

I have hand washed all the Hessler products but I have a spot of rust on one of the knives. If you scratch the coating off, they rust at that place. I was sold on the pitch that the knives would last forever.

I thought they would at least last a year or so. They are absolute trash.
